James Wendell Barlow passed away on July 7, 2024 at Assured Senior Living in Littleton, Colorado after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease. He was 75.

James was born on April 19, 1949 in Corpus Christi, Texas to George and Mae Barlow.

He moved to Powell from Tehachapi, California in 1970 and spent his career as an oil driller for various companies in the western part of the United States.

He also loved riding his bicycle and could be found most mornings at sunrise cruising the outskirts of Powell with his trusty brown Lab named Boz.

James was also a Christian, and one of his favorite activities was the weekly men’s prayer breakfast at the Southern Baptist Church in Powell.

James was preceded in death by his parents, George and Mae Barlow, and his brother, Jerry Barlow.

He is survived by his daughter, Jessica Barlow, of Louisville, Kentucky; his son, Andy Barlow, of Denver, Colorado; and his six grandchildren: Noah, Sojourn, Emmy, Drew, Jansy and Georgia.

The family will hold a simple graveside service on Tuesday, Aug. 6 at 10 a.m. at Crown Hill Cemetery.
