Powell Golf Club’s Good Old Boys played “sucker in the bucket” this week.
Four-man teams took the best net ball on the first hole, picked the next best ball from the three remaining members on the next hole and the next best ball from the two remaining players. The last player was the “sucker,” with the team using his net score on the fourth hole. This was repeated on Tuesday until 18 holes were played.
In first place with a 62 was Bob Mason, Stephen Burtoft, Dave Frost and Lloyd Snyder. Second place went to Larry Hedderman, James Caffro, Judge Gimbill and Ray Nelson with a 66. At 67, Kevin Lineback, Don Hardy, Dennis McCollum and Thom Seliga were third. Fourth place was the team of Ed Swistak, Cas Seago, Paul Devoss and Jim Tobin at 68. Tied at 69 were the teams of Jerry Linsdau, Buddy Rae, Gerry Johns and Pete Pleban, and Clark Jeffs, Marc Saylor with Blind draws of Rae and Caffro. Hardy had low gross at 75, while Hardy and Seago tied for low net.
