PUBLIC NOTICE
The Wyoming Public Service Commission (Commission) approved the Application of Montana-Dakota Utilities Co. (MDU or the Company) to pass on a wholesale gas cost decrease of $0.259 per dekatherm (Dth) to its Residential, Firm General Service customers, and Small Interruptible and Large Interruptible customers, and a decrease of $0.227 per Dth to its Seasonal customers through its CBA, effective for use on and after September1, 2020. The proposed pass-on decreases are attributable to a decrease in the overall commodity price. The Commission’s approval is subject to notice, protest, intervention, refund, change, further investigation, opportunity for hearing and further order of the Commission.
The average MDU residential customer using 2.1 Dth in September 2020 will see a bill decrease of approximately $0.54 per Dth (2.04%) before taxes. Actual bills will vary with usage.
The proposed pass-on results in a projected dollar-for-dollar decrease of approximately $18,400 in the Company’s September 2020 revenues. The decrease does not change the Company’s authorized rate of return.
Commission Rule Chapter 3, Section 26 allows a utility to pass on to its customers known or projected commodity cost increases or decreases on a dollar-for-dollar basis, subject to public notice, opportunity for hearing and refund.
MDU’s Application is on file at the Commission’s offices in Cheyenne, Wyoming, and is available for inspection by any interested person during regular business hours or online at: http://psc.state.wy.us/.
