F ‘Jerry’ Keller

F “Jerry” Keller  passed on Aug. 28, 2020, at age 85. He was born on June 19, 1935, in Powell, to Fred and Blanche Keller. Jerry was the youngest of four children, Beverly (Gibson), Ron and Ben.

He attended school in Powell, and later went to work for his dad’s trucking company, Keller Trucking. He married Deloris Shaulis in 1954. They had five children, Jewel, Kim, Joe, Kelly and Dana.

Jerry worked for the City of Powell for a short time in construction. In 1972, he and the family moved to Mesa, Arizona. There, he worked in plumbing. He retired in 2000. Jerry’s favorite thing was riding his Yamaha V Star motorcycle. He put over 50,000 miles on it. He also enjoyed cribbage, shuffle board and playing cards. Jerry was a big college football fan. He loved to watch the ASU Sun Devils and the Wyoming Cowboys play. Also, he loved to watch Arizona State women’s softball. He loved to drink cowboy coffee and tell stories. Happy trails, Dad.

Jerry was preceded in death by his wife, Deloris in 1982, and daughter, Dana, in 1993. There will be a brief gathering at the Crown Hill Cemetery in Powell on Wednesday, Sept. 30, at 11 a.m.
