Edith Julia Head, 92, passed away on March 25, 2022, at the Powell Valley Care Center.

She was born on May 26, 1929, in Cody, Nebraska, to Howard Augustus and Mary Edith Goodrich. In 1936 the family moved to Casper, Wyoming, where they ranched. She graduated from Natrona County High School in 1948.

Edith was working as an operator for Bell Telephone when she met and married Donald E. Head from Bonne Terre, Missouri, in 1952, and they were married for 50 years. Don and Edith moved many times before settling in Powell in 1972. She was an excellent seamstress and got a kick out of sharing a name with a famous designer. She made custom garments and sewed for an interior designer. She also worked in the high school library in Thermopolis, and Anthony’s in Powell. Later she focused on quilting and was a member of a quilt guild. She enjoyed great times with her quilting friends.

Edith is survived by daughters, Leslie (Don) Otto of Powell, and Dona Dines of Cody, Wyoming; her brother Hershal Goodrich of Bend, Oregon; and grandchildren, Cameron Otto of Powell, Spencer (Kira Gilman) Otto of Lander, Wyoming, Shelby Wright of Deaver, Wyoming, and Augustus Dines of Ralston, Wyoming.

A family graveside service will be held at Crown Hill Cemetery in Powell.
