Another difficult road swing through Utah greeted the Trapper women’s soccer team this past weekend, dropping the Trappers to 0-4 in the early season.
The weekend started off with the most difficult matchup on Thursday, squaring off with No. 8 ranked Snow College.
Snow got the scoring started early and often, scoring a goal three minutes in and extending the lead out to four goals within the first 25 minutes.
Northwest settled in over the next 20 minutes, before another 20 minute swing pushed the lead out to 8-0.
The Badgers again used a 10 minute burst to score the final four goals, making it 12-0 in the 80th minute.
After the large defeat on Thursday, the Trappers regrouped and tried to rebound against Colorado Northwestern Community College on Friday.
Northwest battled throughout the game, registering 13 shots in the game but were unable to find the back of the net.
Colorado Northwestern found the lone goal of the game in the 65th minute, holding off any Trapper attacks the final 25 minutes to finish the game 1-0.
Looking to end the weekend on a high note, the Trappers went to battle with Utah State Eastern.
USU Eastern registered 15 shots throughout the game, while keeping any Trapper attacks from gaining momentum.
The lone goal of the game came in the first half, on a solo effort in the 23rd minute to make the final score 1-0.
Northwest now returns home from its set of long road trips, heading into the first action of Region IX play this weekend.
The Trappers will match up against Western Nebraska Community College on Saturday at noon, hoping to get their first win of the season in region play.
This will be one of only five home games for Northwest this season, before heading back on the road next weekend for region play against Lamar Community College and Northeastern Junior College.
