Democrat Grey Bull can take on Rep. Cheney

Dear Editor:

The Democratic primary for the House of Representatives is only a few days away and, for once, Wyoming Democrats could nominate someone who could actually challenge a Cheney!

Lynnette Grey Bull is a mother of three, the founder of an anti-human trafficking nonprofit and the vice president of the Global Indigenous Council. She is a Native American woman who has for years done the hard, grassroots work of fighting for basic rights for Wyomingites and most recently, offering relief to COVID-19-impacted families across rural central Wyoming. If you had a chance to watch Monday’s Democratic U.S. House debate, you know that she is also sharp and real.

Wyoming Democrats, do we have to pick the cookie cutter white male candidate again? Can we not make history, and vote for the first Native American and first woman of color ever to run for our at-large U.S. congressional seat? Let’s answer the call of the moment, the call of history, and for once be bold and do something different. Grey Bull has the policies and resumé to at least give Liz Cheney something to think about and Democrats something to dream about.

Thank you.
