CODY — The Cody Country Chamber of Commerce is hoping to get locals downtown before the height of tourist season kicks in.

On Thursday, from 4:30-6:30 p.m., the chamber invites the community to take part in the Spring Stroll, an evening event designed to encourage locals to explore and shop in support of downtown Cody.

With 35 local businesses participating, the Spring Stroll offers an opportunity to discover new merchandise, and take advantage of in-store promotions at shops, galleries, and eateries — many of which are offering seasonal specials, new inventory, or limited-time promotions.

“This event is about keeping our local dollars in Cody,” said Jennifer Thoma, executive director of the Cody Country Chamber of Commerce. “With the busy summer season just around the corner and construction temporarily changing the flow of downtown, it’s more important than ever that we show up for the businesses that make our town unique.”

Participants can pick up a printed map of participating businesses and offers downtown at those businesses or at the chamber, which will be sharing updates and highlights on social media and throughout the downtown area in the days leading up to the event. The Spring Stroll is free and open to the public.
