Plaza Diane will host Cody author and illustrator Brooke Malia Mann on Thursday evening for an opening reception of her artwork. The event, which will run from 6:30-8 p.m. at the downtown Powell plaza, will also double as a book signing for Mann’s new book, “Teachings of Jesus.”
Mann is an artist and author whose previous book, “Miracles of Jesus,” was published in 2019, also by Deseret Book. Mann graduated from Brigham Young University with a bachelor of fine arts in illustration and a minor in English.
“Since she was a little girl making stapled-together picture books, Brooke [Mann] has been involved in art,” said a press release from Plaza Diane. “Her art has been influenced by her Japanese heritage, childhood in California and young adult years living in Utah.”
“Teachings of Jesus” is meant to teach children about Jesus’ parables, including the wise man and the foolish man, the 10 virgins and prodigal son.
“‘Teachings of Jesus’ is the perfect uplifting book for you to read with your children or that your children can read themselves,” the press release said.
