LEWISBURG, W.Va. — Laurel Markert, D.O., graduated from the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine (WVSOM) with a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree on May 2.
While at WVSOM, Dr. Markert was secretary of the Pediatrics Club. She was a member of the Rural Health Initiative, the Wilderness Medicine Club and the student chapter of the American College of Osteopathic Pediatricians.
Markert earned a Bachelor of Science degree in physiology from the University of Wyoming in Laramie in 2017, and a Masters of Science degree in biomedical science from Colorado State University in Fort Collins, Colorado, in 2018. She is a 2013 graduate of Cody High School.
Markert is the daughter of Ken Markert and the late Lynn Entwisle of Cody.
She plans to enter an emergency medicine residency at Kent Hospital in Warwick, Rhode, Island
