CODY — The Cody Country Chamber of Commerce invites the public to a special  centennial celebration marking 100 years of Hayden’s Arch, one of Wyoming’s most iconic bridges. The commemorative ceremony will take place Saturday, June 21, at 4 p.m., at the historic Hayden Arch Bridge.

First dedicated on June 21, 1925, Hayden’s Arch stands as a remarkable symbol of  engineering innovation and community vision. The bridge was designed by Charles E.  Hayden, a pioneering engineer and civic leader whose impact on the region extended far  beyond his structural work. In addition to building the bridge that connected Cody to the  eastern entrance of Yellowstone National Park, Hayden played a foundational role in establishing Park County and served as Speaker of the Wyoming House of Representatives, where he authored the bill that officially created the county.

The upcoming event will recreate the spirit of the original 1925 dedication, when regional leaders gathered to celebrate a future shaped by progress and connection. This year’s ceremony will reflect on the bridge’s significance through music, storytelling, and a symbolic re-christening of the Arch — acknowledging the legacy of Charles Hayden and the bridge’s enduring role in Cody’s history.

Interested attendees may purchase and have signed the newly released book “Hayden’s  Arch,” co-authored by local historians Robyn Cutter and Bob Richard, which chronicles the remarkable story behind the bridge and the legacy of Charles Hayden.

This event is free and open to all.
