A Cody realtor has been named as the new president of the Wyoming Chapter of the Realtors Land Institute (RLI).

Ted Harvey, the broker/owner of United Country Real Estate | Yellowstone Land Consultants, was elected by unanimous vote from the membership. As president, Harvey will serve a two-year term on the chapter’s executive committee.

A ranch broker since 2012 and a member of RLI since 2014, Harvey brings extensive experience to the position, having sold ranch properties throughout Wyoming that range in size from 40 to 55,000 acres; he’s been involved in more than $50 million worth of sales.

Harvey said his goals for the chapter are to grow the membership by leading the organization to implement educational courses beyond real estate licensing requirements.

“We are working on classes specifically related to land transitions, such as water rights, grazing leases, mineral rights, conservation easements, and title and contract issues,” he said in a news release. “Over the next two years we will offer a series of classes to our members and real estate agents in Wyoming who are interested in becoming true land professionals.”

The chapter will also host ranch tours on properties listed by chapter members, he said.

Harvey is one of only about a dozen Wyoming realtors designated as an accredited land consultant (ALC), given to agents who’ve completed an education program and been certified as “the most elite land real estate agents.”

In the release, leaders of the Wyoming chapter of RLI said Harvey’s experience and dedication to RLI and the industry will be “an invaluable asset.” The Realtors Land Institute describes itself as “the acknowledged leader for all matters pertaining to the land real estate profession.” For more information, visit www.rliland.com.
