Santa Claus used his staff of sleigh bells to usher in the holiday season at the Clark Christmas Jingle in the Clark Pioneer Recreation Center on Tuesday evening.
The annual event is sponsored by the Clark Recreation Center with the help of numerous volunteers. It featured a low-cost sale area for youth to purchase donated items as gifts for family and friends. There also was a crafts section and a prize area with a stack of picnic cups to test throwing skill.
Hot dogs and chili were available plus various vendors who offered a wide selection of items. The main attraction featured the jolly St. Nick in a one-horse open sleigh adjacent to a colorful yule tree. Photos with the bearded head elf in his Santa suit were available. Approximately 40 youngsters attended the holiday kick off.
