March 7, 2022
The governing body of the City of Powell met in regular session at 6:00 p.m. on March 7, 2022 in the Council Chambers of City Hall. Mayor John Wetzel called the meeting to order and the following were present: Council Members Tim Sapp, Floyd Young, Lesli Spencer, Steven Lensegrav, Zane Logan and Geoff Hovivian. City Officials: City Administrator Zack Thorington, City Clerk Tiffany Brando and Deputy City Attorney Scott Kath. Approval of Agenda: Councilman Young moved to approve the agenda as presented, seconded by Councilman Lensegrav, unanimous approval, MOTION CARRIED. Approval of February 22, 2022 minutes and Work Session: Councilwoman Spencer moved to approve minutes and work session as presented, seconded by Councilman Logan, unanimous approval, MOTION CARRIED. Bills and Claims: Mayor Wetzel abstained #39. Councilman Lensegrav made a motion the bills be allowed and authorize the Treasurer to draw warrants for payment of the same, seconded by Councilman Young, unanimous approval, MOTION CARRIED. Committee Updates: Councilman Logan Recycle board, Councilman Lensegrav Rec board and Councilwoman Spencer WAM update.
Appointment: Mayor appointment of alternate judges Jessica Loeper and Laura Newton as requested by Judge Allred. Councilwoman Spencer moved to approve appointments, Councilman Hovivian seconded, unanimous approval, MOTION CARRIED. Discussion on Gateway Drive Parcel of Land: Administrator Thorington gave and update on meeting with members of Antics, LLC interested in purchasing a piece of brown space and provided costs estimates, they will be getting back to City on plans to pursue. Mayor Wetzel discussed the option of selling the brown space by One Stop and by Yellowstone Motors and inquired on survey off those parcels. Council discussed adding to the FY22-23 budget to survey off two lots.
There being no further business to be considered at this meeting, Councilman Lensegrav moved to adjourn, seconded by Councilwoman Spencer, unanimous approval, MOTION CARRIED. Mayor Wetzel adjourned the regular meeting at 6:12 p.m.
