The annual ChristmasFest weekend of events takes over downtown Powell on Friday and Saturday.
There will be cocoa, caroling, live musical entertainment, holiday crafts, face painting and cookie decorating for kids, visits with Santa and the traditional Lighted Christmas Parade at 5:30 p.m. Saturday. The event is co-sponsored by Plaza Diane, Powell Rotary and PEP, and the Powell Chamber, in cooperation with the Park County Travel Council.
The event is in its fifth year after taking over for the decades-long run of Country Christmas.
Events start Friday at Plaza Diane. There will be community caroling, including songs by the Powell Middle School choir, complimentary cocoa and roasting marshmallows for the Lighting of the Enchanted Forest at 5:45 p.m.
From 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday Santa’s Workshop will be open at The Commons, where kids can enjoy cookie decorating and face painting. There will also be performances in the morning at Plaza Diane by local dance groups.
Then, at 2 p.m. Santa will be at Plaza Diane. Events wrap up at 5:30 p.m. with the traditional parade through downtown.
