Carol Christiansen was born on Christmas Day 1937, in Powell, Wyoming. She spent her youth on the family farm and participating in 4-H. She showed livestock, sewed and cooked. She excelled in school and received awards for perfect attendance.
She attended Northwest College for three years, where she received her teaching certificate. She began teaching in Clark, Wyoming at 19 years old, instructing fifth to eighth grade. She completed her bachelor’s in education in 1960. Carol married Ervin Thull in 1959. They lived in Sunlight and Crandall during the summer and Ralston in the winter. They had three daughters together.
Ervin died in 1972. Carol resumed teaching in 1973 at Southside School where she taught until she retired in 1999. Carol married Ted Christiansen in 1977. They spent many years going on adventures and camping. She loved spending time with her family and friends.
Carol is survived by her husband Ted Christiansen; her daughters Brenda Gilmore, Karen (Calvin) Johnston and Elizabeth Palato; brothers Jim and Lloyd Brown; grandchildren Ashley (Lance) Smallwood, Karl (Andrew) Johnston, Monica Gilmore, India Palato, Luke Palato and Lexi Palato; sister-in-law Dorothy Yeage-Finny; and numerous nieces and nephews of the Brown and Thull families as well as multiple great granddogs. Carol was preceded in death by her father Clayton Brown and her mother Elizabeth Brown; her husband Ervin Thull; sisters Alice (Elbert) VandenBroek and Irma Brown; brother Walter (Judy) Brown; and many sisters-in-laws, brothers-in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and amazing friends.
