The Bureau of Land Management’s Cody and Worland field offices are seeking the public’s input as they evaluate the 2015 Big Horn Basin Resource Management Plan (RMP).
From now through May 11, the public is invited to read and submit comments on the draft evaluation report by visiting tinyurl.com/2wjhjzfn.
The report assesses the existing Big Horn Basin RMP to determine whether mitigation measures are satisfactory; whether there have been significant changes in the related plans of other federal agencies, state or local governments, or Indian tribes; or whether there is new data of significance to the plan.
The BLM is required to regularly monitor and evaluate the decisions, supporting analysis and implementation of existing, approved RMPs. The bureau cautions that the evaluation is not intended to initiate RMP maintenance actions, amendments or revisions and will not prepare compliance documents, inventory public lands or resources in the planning area or evaluate greater sage-grouse-related decisions and amendments.
After comments are reviewed and incorporated into the document, the final evaluation report will be made available.
For additional information, contact the BLM’s Holly Elliott at 307-347-5193 or helliott@blm.gov.
