Powell High School senior Andy Beavers is the recipient of this year’s scholarship from the Park County Farm Bureau Federation.
Beavers will receive $650 for his freshman year at Northwest College. As long as he continues to meet the qualifications, he can renew the scholarship for one additional year.
To qualify for the award, students must post a GPA of at least 2.5 and either they or their parents must be a Park County Farm Bureau member. Preference is given to those who plan to attend Northwest College, but the scholarship can be used at any Wyoming community college or the University of Wyoming.
In many years, there’s low interest in the scholarship, said Park County Farm Bureau President Abby Shuler, but that wasn’t the case in 2021.
“This year we had quite a group of applicants and they were all outstanding students,” Shuler said. “It was tough to pick just one winner on that one.”
