The Powell High School wrestling team finished third overall, while a pair of Panthers won individual titles at the 3A State Wrestling Championships on Saturday.

Star Valley took the top spot for the fourth straight season with 296.5 points. Douglas finished in second with 193.5 points, while Powell rounded out the top three with 172 points.

Reese Karst and Brody Karhu won individual titles at 138 pounds and 152 pounds, respectively. For Karst it was his third-straight state championship and second at 138 pound (he won the 3A 132-pound title his sophomore year). The senior pinned Rawlins’ Gabriel Munoz in the second round of the title match to claim the championship.

Karhu, meanwhile, became a back-to-back champion at 152 pounds by decisioning Lander’s Jack Sweeney 10-4 for the title.

Bo Dearcorn took second at 182 pounds, losing to Star Valley’s Trent Clark by a 10-2 major decision in the championship final.

Other Panther medalists included Trevor Feller, who placed fourth at 120 pounds; Corey Linebaugh's fourth-place finish at 132 pounds; Michael Maddox, fifth at 126 pounds, Seth Horton, fifth at 160 pounds; and Colt Nicholson, who finished sixth at 106 pounds.
