Bob Funkhouser

Bob Funkhouser passed on March 18, 2019, of a short illness, at the Billings Clinic. He was 80.

Bob was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, on July 20, 1938, to Raymond and Mildred Funkhouser. He grew up in Okemah and Tulsa, Oklahoma.

After high school, he joined the Navy and served for four years. He then worked construction until the early 1960s and then went to work for Cooper Manufacturer, building workover rigs for the oil patch. He moved to Casper in 1980 and worked as a branch manager for Cooper. In 1987, he moved back to Tulsa, Oklahoma, and worked various jobs until 2004. He then moved to Powell and worked as a manager of Cactus Garden Court. Since 2008, he worked for Blair’s Fuel Center.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Mildred Funkhouser, son Doug Funkhouser and daughter Vicki Lee.

Survivors are Georgia Funkhouser; Robert Funkhouser (Franny) of Sand Springs, Oklahoma; Lisa Youngblood of Dallas, Texas; Daun Orlando of Tulsa, Oklahoma; Tracy MacDonald (Al) of Powell; Jim Funkhouser (Tilly) of San Marcos, Texas; Don Funkhouser of San Francisco, California; David Shaw (Leta) of Claremore, Oklahoma; Jean Poorboy of Apex, North Carolina; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

When Bob wasn’t working, he loved going to Yellowstone and taking pictures of the wildlife, especially the bears.

Bob’s wishes were to be cremated and no services are planned at this time.
