Playing on the road last week, the Northwest College women’s basketball team lost to Western Wyoming Community College, 76-48, before beating Central Wyoming, 74-68.

It was another great week for the Powell High School boys swim team, as they began the week with a win at Cody and ended it giving defending state champion Lander all they could handle at the Bruce Gresly Invitational in Lander.

Powell Panther boys basketball coach Chase Kistler sees improved play from his team despite home losses to Cody (64-46) and Worland (66-43) on Friday and Saturday.

Powell’s record fell to 2-10.

Trappers win three duals 114-15

They got the message.

After a seventh place tournament finish in their first action out of the holiday break, Northwest College coach Jim Zeigler challenged his wrestlers to push themselves competitively. The Trappers answered the call to win three successive dual matches by a combined score of 114-15.

Lady Trappers win two more

The Northwest College women’s basketball team came out ready to play basketball last week, using fast starts to beat both Little Big Horn College (87-48) and Miles Community College (76-49). The wins brought NWC’s overall season record to 11-9.

Two duals and a two-day tournament over five days didn’t appear to phase Powell High School wrestlers.
