Four PHS swimmers added to Hall of Fame Board

The Powell Aquatic Center’s Hall of Fame Board will undergo quite a bit of change this year. This season, four Powell High School swimmers — Nate MaGill, Hudson Wilkerson, Kacey Creed and Richard Spann — broke school records, meaning their names and times will be added to the Hall of Fame Board.

On the one hand, the Powell High School girls soccer team lost a couple games last week. On the other hand, they’re showing improvement from where they stood a year ago.

Massive PHS track team starts season

Boys, girls show strong in Cody

Boasting a roster loaded with roughly 90 athletes, the Powell High School track team kicked off its spring season Saturday with a pair of strong finishes.

The Powell High School boys soccer team suffered two conference losses over the weekend. On Friday, Powell lost 3-1 in Cody and on Saturday, Worland beat the Panthers 2-1 at home.

Throughout the course of the season, the PHS boys swim team had 17 swimmers qualify for state with five swimmers earning All-Conference honors and seven earning All-State. Year-end awards for most valuable, most inspirational, hardest worker, most improved overall — as well as most improved for each class — were handed out on March 16.

PHS soccer kicks off season

Both the boys and girls Powell High School soccer teams started off the season with wins over Pinedale on Friday.

Two players from the Northwest College women’s basketball team have been honored for the 2016-17 season.

A total of 546 swimmers across 26 teams descended on Laramie for the USA Swimming Winter State competition earlier this month. A dozen Powell Swim Club members were among the competitors and they finished third as a team in Division III and 20th overall.
