At a Saturday meet in Cody, Powell High School’s boys and girls cross country teams had five athletes crack the top 10, while the boys ran to a second place finish.

After scoring just a single goal in the first five games of the season, the Northwest College women’s soccer team found their groove last Wednesday, finding the back of the net three times against the visiting Lady Mustangs of Western Wyoming Community College.

Competing at the state tennis tournament last week, the Powell High School boys played their way to fifth while the girls finished 11th. The duo of Dylan Preator and Aiden Jacobsen took second in the No. 2 doubles position — earning All-State honors — while Rhett Pimentel finished fourth in the No. 2 singles position.

The Lady Panther swim team competed in the Worland Invitational Saturday and swam to a second-place finish, just 47 points behind the defending state champion Lander team.

The Northwest College rodeo teams competed in Glendive, Montana, last weekend where the men’s team continued its success. The Trappers placed second as a team, while Caleb McMillan won the all-around. The women’s team tied for third place with University of Providence (formerly the University of Great Falls).

Lady Trappers blanked by LCCC

The Northwest College women’s soccer team finished up three straight games on the road with a 10-0 loss at Laramie County Community College in Cheyenne Saturday. The Lady Trappers are now 0-5 on the season.
