Lady Panthers fall short in Worland

The Lady Panther soccer team traveled to Worland over the weekend, going 1-3 at the Pinnacle Challengers Cup to finish in eighth place.

As the brass at the MLB Network mulled how to introduce the 2018 baseball season to their viewers, they initially thought they’d call on Sam Elliott — the Hollywood star and voiceover legend. But in the end, they chose Meeteetse resident Bob Taylor to narrate the network’s Opening Day promo.

The snow and cold has forced the cancellation of Saturday's L.A. Kohnke Invitational track meet at Powell High School.

UPDATE: The Montana State University Billings baseball team will not be playing Cowley or anywhere else this weekend; thanks to the lousy weather, the team's four-game series with conference rival Western Oregon University has been canceled.

Powell High School soccer player Steven Shopa has always had a love for the sport, though growing up, the opportunities weren’t always there to foster that love.

A trio of Wyoming prospects will take the pitch for the Northwest College men’s soccer team next season.

The Powell Wrestling Club hosted its annual 3-Style Tournament March 9-10, welcoming 12 teams to Powell High School for the event. Competing in three separate styles, the Powell team finished seventh in Folkstyle, fifth in Greco and fifth in Freestyle.

PHS track teams shine at Cody dual

The Powell High School track teams went into the Easter break with a strong showing at the Cody/Powell Double Duals Thursday at Cody.

Stranded in the Denver airport last month, Dan Hunter, pole vault coordinator for the Powell High School track and field team, was frazzled enough to not notice an approaching sneak attack.

Lady Panthers stun No. 2 Worland

With last season’s 10-0 beatdown at the hands of the Lady Warriors still at the forefront of his mind, Powell High School head girls soccer coach Jack Haire believed this year’s game against Worland would be different.
