Lose heartbreaker to Dawson, beat Yellowstone Christian and Elite

The Northwest College women’s basketball team bounced back from a loss at the buzzer with two decisive wins over the past week.

Starting the season off with a pair of nail-biting thrillers, the Powell High School girls basketball team picked up two wins in overtime against one loss in their opening weekend.

The Panther boys basketball team kicked off the season with a win and two losses at the East/West Classic Tournament in Buffalo. The Powell High School team lost to Rawlins (60-53) and Buffalo (40-26), before beating Newcastle 54-44.

Stretching their winning streak to eight games, the Northwest College men’s basketball team picked up two more wins over the weekend.

NWC wrestles for experience, improvement in Great Falls

The Northwest College wrestling team picked up some wins and experience at weekend competitions in Great Falls, Montana.

The Lady Trapper basketball team rebounded from a Thursday loss to pick up a pair of wins on Friday and Saturday.

Panthers set to start seasons this Friday

This weekend kicks off Powell High School’s winter sports seasons — with both wrestling and boys swimming competing at home, the girls basketball team in Cody and the boys basketball team in Buffalo.

Overcoming injuries to a couple of key players, the Northwest College men’s basketball team reeled off three straight wins over the last week.

Team effort lifts NWC women’s basketball squad on Tuesday

Production from the entire lineup carried the Northwest Trapper women’s basketball team to a 63-46 win over the Rocky Mountain College JV Tuesday in Powell.

For 13-year-old Powell native Caden Gines, a lengthy season of bull riding will pay off with an appearance at next week’s Junior National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas.
