To complete 2016, the Powell High School swim team held its annual alumni swim challenge on Saturday, where participants from ages 8 to 66 competed in seven different events.

Those competing paid a $25 entry fee, with the proceeds helping the Powell swim teams pay for the nameplates on the Hall of Fame board hanging in the Powell Aquatic Center.

The 12 and under girls competition was won by Lucia Harder with 65 points. Coming in second was Grace Harder with 57 points and in third place was Kaylen Greenwald with 32 points.

For the boys 12 and under, Rui Parker, placed first with 65 points while Aiden Greenwald placed second with 46 points.

The top five placers in the boys 13-18 competition were all current PHS swimmers, who are in the midst of the 2016-17 season. Kacey Creed won the gold with 63 points. Richard Span placed second with 48 and in third was Trenton Wilson with 45. Fourth place was taken by Joe Kuntz with 42 and Dillinger Wilkerson placed fifth with 41 points.

For 19 and over women’s competition, the top five finishers were Tasha McKelvey with 47 points, followed by Stephanie Liggett with 39 points, Tanya Bonner with 30 points, Ashley Dillon with 29 and Kaiya Rodriguez with 22 points.

The last group was the 19 and over men’s competition. Placing first was Jarred LaPierre with 55 points. Aaron Harder and Joe Asay tied for second, each piling up 49 points. Fourth place went to Edward Oursler with 36 points and Seth Partenheimer placed fifth with 26 points.
