LARAMIE — Laramie GM Auto Center is adding a new twist to its long-time corporate partnership with University of Wyoming Intercollegiate Athletics by turning it into an opportunity to recognize others, as announced by the school’s multimedia rights holder, University of Wyoming Sports Properties.

This football season, “Hometown Heroes presented by Laramie GM Auto Center,” will be incorporated into all six home football games, beginning with the Wyoming Cowboys’ Aug. 30 home opener against the Montana Grizzlies at War Memorial Stadium.

All season long, people are encouraged to nominate a local hometown hero that has made a difference in their communities across the state of Wyoming. Nominations can be submitted online, via the designated icon on Laramie GM Auto Center’s website, www.laramiegm.com/ or at the dealership located at 3600 E. Grand Ave. in Laramie.

Complementing the season-long recognition of hometown heroes, Laramie GM Auto Center is hosting the first-ever Hometown Heroes 5K Run & Walk on Saturday, Sept. 6, prior to the homestand against Air Force.

The race will commence at 9 a.m. starting at Laramie Youth Baseball Annex on Armory Road and will continue on a scenic course through the University of Wyoming War Memorial Stadium Jonah Field with all proceeds benefitting the Veteran Affairs. Entry fee is $20 per person by Aug. 27 or a $25 entry after that date or morning of the race. Details and registration information can be also be found at www.laramiegm.com.
