In an unusual sequence of events, three search operations were underway simultaneously last week to find and rescue people who were lost or hurt in the Big Horn Mountains.

Though November is still a couple of months away, it’s safe to assume many of you are already tired of hearing about elections.

We were disappointed to report that not very many people showed up to the polls for the primary election on Aug. 16. Casting our votes during the primaries is just as important as deciding who the winner is on Election Day, and we’d like to see Park County residents be more active in local politics.

Classes start up again next week, both at Northwest College and in Powell schools.

It’s Primary Election Day in Wyoming, so if you haven’t already cast your vote, be sure to get to the polls before 7 p.m. tonight (Tuesday).

Although most of us aren’t farmers, we’re all directly linked to agriculture because everyone eats. 

As large wildfires raged across the West this summer, those of us in Park County only saw smoky skies as evidence of their devastation.

Until last week, that is.

It just got easier for local bartenders to check IDs, and more difficult for minors to drink alcohol in Powell.

We say cheers to that.

Another Park County Fair is in the books, and it was a good one.

A recently released video game encourages players to go for a walk instead of sitting around. That’s good; walking is beneficial for people of all ages.
