Kathleen (Spencer) Swearingen

Kathleen Swearingen, 67, died May 18, 2010 in Cody.

She was born in Conrad, Mont., on March 8, 1943, the daughter of Wilkins and Marianne Eggers Spencer. She grew up in Casper and married Joel W. Swearingen in Casper in June 1962.

She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Joel; their six daughters: Susanne Lee (Hal) of Cody, Jeanette Beman (Chris) of Cheyenne, Linda Tremelling (Tom) of Cody, Lorraine Leavitt of Cody, Melissa Swearingen of Phoenix, Ariz., and Joeleen McCann (Bill) of Cody.

She is also survived by her grandchildren: Shira, Jennifer, Amanda, Sean, Brent, Cristen, Cameron, Craig, Jacob, Justine, Jasmine and Logan; her mother Marianne Spencer of Cody; and siblings Rosemary McCandless of Nevada, Marianne Hall of Washington, Fred Spencer of Arizona, Veronica Plumb of Arizona; and many nieces and nephews and spouses of her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father and her sister Patricia Moore. A funeral mass was held on Saturday, May 22 at St. Barbara’s Catholic Church in Powell. Burial followed in Crown Hill Cemetery.Donations in Kathleen’s name may be given to the Carmelite Monastery, P.O.
