Emma (Meinhart) DeVoss Miller

Funeral services were conducted Saturday at Immanuel Lutheran Church for Emma DeVoss Miller, 86, who died of an apparent heart attack Tuesday, Dec. 26 at Powell Valley Healthcare.

The Rev. Lee Wisroth officiated at services. Cremation followed, with burial of cremains in Riverside Cemetery, Cody, on Wednesday, Jan. 3.

Emma was born Aug. 14, 1920, at Deaver to Carl Meinhart and Anna E. (Ungefug) Meinhart. She attended schools through the eighth grade.

On March 2, 1941, she married Paul E. DeVoss at Deaver. Emma and Paul lived in several places in Colorado, Montana and Wyoming, settling in Powell in 1950.

Emma and Virgil were married in Immanuel Lutheran Church in Powell July 12, 1969,and lived in Billings, Mont., and in Leavenworth, Wash.Emma was baptized on Sept. 12, 1920 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Lovell and was confirmed at St. John's on May 19, 1935.

She enjoyed sewing, crocheting and quilting and was a member of the Lutheran Church, Missouri Synod. She dearly loved her Lord, her family, friends and church family.

Survivors include a son, Paul E. (Kelly) DeVoss and wife Donna of Powell; a daughter, Judith Anne Cornelison of Captain Cook, Hawaii; five sisters, Olga Robbins, Katherine Dickerson, Selma Kary, Martha Hill and Loretta Kolb; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by husbands Paul and Virgil; her parents, two sisters, two brothers and a son-in-law.

Memorials may be sent to Immanuel Lutheran Church for the Emma Miller memorial fund.
