Clarence L. Erickson, formerly of White Sulphur Springs, Mont., died early Saturday, Oct. 19 at the home of his son, Ron Erickson, near Powell. He was 81.

He was born Dec. 15, 1920, in Minneapolis, Minn. to Carol and Ruby (Vaughn) Erickson. Following high school graduation, he attended electrical schools.

Between 1942 and 1946, he served with the U.S. Army Air Corps.

On Nov. 23, 1948, he and Edith M. Coffman were married in Billings, Mont.

He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Eastern Star and the Electrical Union #532 in Billings.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Edith Erickson of Powell; sons Elmer Whitcraft and wife Jan of Lakeside, Mont., Edward Whitcraft and wife Sheri of Canon City, Colo. and Ron Erickson and wife Sue of Powell; daughters Margaret Halbach and husband Mike of Wisconsin, Marilyn Prichard and husband Bill of Columbia Falls, Mont., Lila King and husband Frank of Florida and Loretta Lukkason and husband Roger of Yuma, Ariz.; brothers Kerwin Erickson and wife Helen of Amery, Wisc. and Stanley Erickson of Palm Springs, Calif.; 21 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Frank Whitcraft; his parents; and one brother.

Cremation has taken place. A memorial service is scheduled Thursday, Oct. 24 at 2 p.m. at Twichel Funeral Home, 103 E. Garfield, White Sulphur Springs, Mont.
