Funeral services were conducted Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Alban's Episcopal Church in Worland for Helen Grace Minish, formerly of Powell, who died Friday, Dec. 29 at her home in Worland. She was 82.
Father Daniel Crawford officiated. Burial was in Crown Hill Cemetery, Powell.
She was born Dec. 13, 1912, in Columbus, Kans., eldest daughter of William E. Jennings and Louise C. (Heinrichsmeier) Jennings.
She was employed in various clerical and secretarial positions, and while living in Boulder City, Nev., she met Arthur N. Minish, an engineer for the National Park Service. They were married Dec. 23, 1942.
Their three children were born in Boulder City. The family was later transferred to NPS assignments in Texas, Pennsylvania, Utah, Wyoming and Montana. He was assigned at Yellowstone National Park, Flaming Gorge National Recreation and Big Horn Canyon National Recreation Area before retiring to Powell from the Park Service in 1969 after 34 years.
Following her husband's death, she moved to Worland in October of 1998 to be near a daughter.
Her sewing ability started in 4-H, which led to her love of all kinds of needlework, as well as related hobbies. But her first loves were her family and her home. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed canning her own produce.
She was a member of St. Alban's Episcopal Church, the Washakie Hospital auxiliary and the Crafty Gals homemakers club.
Survivors include her daughter, Mary of Worland; one son, John of Missoula, Mont.; four step-grandchildren and families; and sisters Elsie and Wilma Jennings of Columbus, Kans.
