Betty R. Dalke, 86, passed away at her home in East Wenatchee, Washington, on Wednesday morning, Jan. 31, 2018, following a short illness. She was a 52-year East Wenatchee resident.

She was born on Aug. 26, 1931, in Sheridan to the late Jesse Olen and Charlotte (Verley) Shanor. She was raised in Wyola, Montana, on the Crow Indian reservation where she attended elementary school. The family moved to Kalispell, Montana, when she was 11. Following high school, she moved to Powell, where she met Vernon G. Dalke. They were married on July 14, 1949, in Cody, and made their home in Powell until moving to East Wenatchee in 1965.

Betty was an avid bowler and bowled on area leagues. She played on the women’s fastpitch softball league. She enjoyed gardening, sewing and was a talented quilter. She loved the outdoors and would accept any invitation to go fishing, camping and ATV riding. She had planned a month long four-wheeler trip in Arizona with her family for the month of January.

Betty is survived by her daughters: Dawna (Dean) Fleming, of Rock Island, Washington; Roxanna Lewis and Bobbie (Steve) Mitchell, all of East Wenatchee; and a grand nephew, Walter Rook, whom she raised. She also leaves four grandchildren: Cameron (Amanda) Lewis, Cari (Bob) Vereb, Eric (Nicole) Mitchell, of East Wenatchee, and Megan (Josh) Bollinger, of Rock Island; six great-grandchildren: Preston Lewis, Caden Lewis, Noah Lewis, Micah Vereb and Travis Escalera, all of East Wenatchee, and Jace Bollinger of Rock Island.

She was preceded in death by husband, Vernon, son-in-law, Carl V. Lewis; nine brothers and sisters: Jesse Shanor, LeRoy Shanor, Mildred Rook, Ray Shanor, Phil Shanor, Martin Shanor, Bill Shanor, Robert Shanor and Lois Jane Shanor.

Services will be held on Thursday, Feb. 8, at 11 a.m. at Eastmont Baptist Church, located at 400 S. Kentucky Ave. in East Wenatchee. You are invited to view her online tribute at HeritageMemorialChapel.com and leave a memory. Arrangements are in the care of Heritage Memorial Chapel, East Wenatchee.
