Deborah Ellen Borcher (Bell) of Powell passed peacefully at the Spirit Mountain Hospice house in Cody on June 10, 2017.

The youngest of three, she was born on March 2, 1951, in Powell, to Bob & Gloria Bell. Growing up in the social hub of Deaver, her parents’ grocery store, Debbie developed an outgoing personality at a young age. She graduated from Deaver High in 1969 and attended cosmetology school in Billings.

Debbie met the love of her life in 1st grade and married Ken Borcher on June 2nd 1971. They celebrated their 46th wedding anniversary this year. The last few years gave them many blessings. They both said these were the best years of their lives. On their anniversary, she said:

“We’ve been through a lot the last couple years, and can’t imagine anyone who would have handled it with more patience and a smile.”

In 1974, in a fortunate twist of fate, the couple was offered a position farming on Heart Mountain with Paul Etheridge. Debbie was a true partner in navigating the ups and downs in a unique farming situation. Thanks to her organization and skills with numbers, the farm is still running strong and will continue to for many years.

We will always remember her sense of humor, energy, positive attitude, thoughtfulness, courage and tenacity. She was a shining example for her loved ones. More than anything, she loved being with friends and family. She was in her element when planning and directing family functions. Over the years she developed many close friendships that she cherished.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Bob & Gloria Bell, her nephew Robbie James, her in-laws Richard and Verlee Borcher, brother-in-law Lynn Borcher and many aunts and uncles.

She is survived by her husband Ken Borcher, her children: Kendrea (Dan) Flynn and their four children of Rapid City, S.D., Erin (Dave) Johnson and their two children of Powell, Shana (Andrew) Barela and their two children of Aurora, CO. Her sister, Dianna (Gary) James of Helena. Her Brother, Ronny Bell of Worland. 1 great-granddaughter and so many special nieces, nephews and friends.

Services will be held at the Deaver Community Center at 11 a.m. on Monday, June 19th.
