June Darlene Conklin, 72, lived a life marked with generosity, love and her faith in God. She died at St. Vincent’s Clinic in Billings on May 9, 2017.

June was born Oct. 31, 1944, in Evanston, to Art and Rita (Hughes) Coggins. Art later died and her father, LeRoy Kramer, adopted June and her siblings.

She attended and graduated from Pocatello High School in 1962 and then attended beauty school.

June married Doyle Howard Conklin on June 29, 1963.  The couple lived and raised their three children, Jeff (Vikki Smith), Travis (Jaelynn) and Jana in Idaho, Utah and Wyoming, going where Doyle’s career with the Forest Service, BLM, and DEQ took them. After retirement, June, Doyle, and Jana moved to Cody to be close to the rest of the family.

She loved children and invested in youth by leading a 4-H group, serving as a Girl Scout troop leader, coaching Special Olympics, and teaching various youth classes at church. She loved-on and mentored many of her nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and children’s friends. June was known as Mrs. C to many of the teenagers she encountered.

She enjoyed people and treated each one she met with kindness.

June is survived by her husband; children; grandchildren Megan Conklin, Jaycee Phillips, Austin Conklin, and Hannah Conklin; and three great-grandchildren. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents LeRoy, Rita, biological father Art, brother Benny Kramer, sister Rhoda (Bill) Wilson, and great-granddaughter Kristian Conklin.

Cremation services are with Ballard Funeral Home. Memorial services will be on Monday, May 15, at 11 a.m. at the Christian Missionary Alliance Church in Cody.
