Edna L. Myers died Sunday, April 9, 2017, at the Long Term Care Center in Cody, with her son by her side. She was 78.
Edna Sell was born June 11, 1938, in Cody. She was raised in Meeteetse and graduated high school there in 1956.
She married Glen Myers on March 4, 1961, in California. They eventually returned to Meeteetse to raise their family. Edna worked at the school cafeteria, the Meeteetse Mercantile, Lucille’s Cafe, and the Senior Center.
Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Glen Myers of Meeteetse; children Sandi Lott of Gillette, Stacy Myers of Jacksonville, Florida, and Ty Myers (Janice) of Meeteetse; grandchildren Stacia, Jessica, Kellin, Kaiden, Kameron, Allison, Katheryn, Logan, and Madeleine; and great-granddaughter Wren. She is also survived by her siblings Eva Wagner (Tom), Robert Sell (LaVonne), Osie Beth Lyon, and Curtis Sell (Kari), and numerous nieces and nephews.
Edna was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard Sell and Osie Fries; and daughter Kay Myers.
Those who knew Edna knew that there was a heart of gold behind that feisty exterior.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 15, at 11 a.m. at the St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church in Meeteetse.
Interment will follow at the Meeteetse cemetery, concluding with a luncheon at the St. Andrew’s Parish Hall.
Memorial donations can be made to the Meeteetse Senior Center or the West Park Hospital Nursing Home Activities Fund.
