Janice Lenhard died Sunday, Dec. 18, 2016, in Powell. She was 79.
Janice was born Feb. 21, 1937, in Rushville, Nebraska, the daughter of Martha (Kruml) and John Krotz. She attended high school in Hay Springs, Nebraska, and continued her education at Chadron State College in Chadron, Nebraska.
She married Gene Lenhard on Sept, 4, 1959, in Rushville, Nebraska, and the couple lived in Hay Springs; Lame Deer, Montana; Dayton, Wyoming, and Powell.
Janice was a teacher, homemaker and community volunteer. She was a member of AAUW and St. John’s Episcopal Church in Powell. She enjoyed painting, gardening, music, volunteer work, and her bridge club.
Janice was preceded in death by her husband Gene, parents John and Martha Krotz, and son Shane.
She is survived by her son Rick; daughter-in-law Charlotte Lenhard; grandsons Mark and Steven Lenhard, both in Arkansas; one great-grandchild; brother Jerry Krotz and sister-in-law Karen Krotz.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 23, at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Powell with the Rev. Megan Nickles officiating. The family requests donations be made to AAUW.org.
