Marlene Smith, 93, of Riverton died Sept. 1, 2016, in Billings.

Marlene was born Jan. 24, 1923 in Sumtra, Montana, the daughter of Edward Glen and Velma (Yates) Kent.

She married L.L. Smith on Feb 27, 1940, in Billings. They lived most of their lives in Powell, where they owned L.L. Smith Trucking. In 1993 they moved to Riverton to be near their children.

They enjoyed traveling, riding horses, snowmobiling and going to Lake Havasu. As a widow, she enjoyed playing cards and going to church.

She is survived by her three children, Roger (Jeanette) Smith of Sheridan, Ronald (Sandy) Smith of Billings, Beverly (Jim) Jones of Riverton; brother Edward Glen Kent Jr. of Gillette; grandchildren, Lori (Mark) Kohler, Rodney (Linda) Smith, Kevin (Linda) Smith, Douglas Smith, Trent and Stefanie Smith, J.T. (Autumn) Smith, Rhonda (Jim) Martin, Trina (Mike) Moss, Ryan (Ricci) Richards; 20 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; sister Verna Cameron; brother Bill Kent;  son-in-law George Richards; granddaughter Julie Richards; and great-grandson Jacob Smith.

Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 7, at Mountain View Cemetery in Riverton.

Memorials may be made to Children’s Shrine Hospital or to the donor’s choice in care of the Davis Funeral Home, 2203 W. Main Street, Riverton, WY 82501.
