Robert Charles Thormahlen died peacefully in his home in Colorado on July 17, 2016. He was 80.

Robert was born in Powell on Oct. 3, 1935, to Magdalena and Ludwig Thormahlen.

He joined the Naval Air Force around the time of the Korean conflict.

He preferred the outdoors and loved animals. Most of his life was spent raising, buying, selling, feeding and taking care of livestock.

Robert was a resident of Powell for many years during which time he was married to the love of his life, Dorothy (Johnson).

After their divorce, he moved around a lot and eventually settled mostly in Colorado.

He is survived by his brother, David Thormahlen (Gerri) of Bend, Oregon;  his daughters, Rhonda Duncombe (Pete) of Las Vegas and Bobbie Dawn Trimmer (David) of Upper Lake, California, and six grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, also longtime residents of Powell, and by his brother, Dennis Thormahlen. 

Memorial services will be held in the Bridger Cemetery at his parents’ graves on Sunday, Sept. 4 at 2 p.m.
