Wanda Olive Riker

Wanda Olive Riker, 83, died on June 23, 2016, at the Powell Valley Care Center. She was born on Nov. 4, 1932, in Dallas to Alice and David McCullough. She was their only child. 

She graduated from Rawlins High School in 1950 and later received her licensed practical nursing degree in Seymour, Texas. 

She married Jack D. Riker on May 9, 1952, in San Diego, where Jack was stationed in the Navy. Wanda worked various jobs, while helping put her husband through college. After receiving her nurse’s degree, she worked at the Powell Valley Care Center for many years. 

Wanda enjoyed crocheting, reading, baking, pets and flowers. She cherished spending time with her family, playing dominoes, camping and listening to music. 

Wanda was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. 

Wanda is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Jack and Debbie Riker, of Encampment; daughter and life partner Marlynn Riker and Shelly Amos of Powell. Shelly also was Wanda’s primary caretaker in her last years. 

Wanda is also survived by her two granddaughters, Lindsey Riker and fiancé Joe Fisher of Cheyenne and Danielle Riker of Cody. 

She is also survived by her devoted dog, Mr. Chin.
