Jeannine Onstine Wood of Pocatello, Idaho, died at her home on May 17, 2016, with family and her loving husband by her side. She was 75.

She lived with arthritis and also developed lupus and fibromyalgia. She was told she would be in a wheelchair most of her life, but she fooled them all and was never in one. She taught how to go through trials with courage and no complaints.

She was born on March 25, 1941, in Powell to Frederick William and Norma Elder Onstine.

Jeannine grew up in Powell and graduated from Powell High School in 1959. During high school, she worked at Fryer’s Pharmacy.

On May 29, 1959, she married Richard Lee Dellos of Worland. To this union were born two sons, Robert and Dean. The couple lived in Worland and later divorced.

She married Clyde Sell and they moved to Green River. After Clyde’s retirement, they moved back to Powell, and they divorced.

She then met and married William D. “Rabbit” Wood, the love of her life. They traveled extensively with Rabbit’s job finally settling in Payson, Arizona, before moving to Pocatello in 2004 to be closer to her family.

She was active in the DOES Organization and was appointed to several national offices.

Jeannine was an excellent cook and cooked at the Elks Club in Powell. Other hobbies included sewing, watching NASCAR and reading.

Whenever she got the chance, Jeannine loved to go fishing and camping. She also loved her pet ferrets.

Jeannine had a quick wit and loved visiting with anyone. Over the years she kept in close contact with many of her classmates, and looked forward each year to attending the Powell High School class reunions, where she could be with old friends.

She and Rabbit loved to dance, and their last dance was in their living room just recently. On Valentine’s Day this year, they celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary.

She is survived by her husband Rabbit; sons Robert of Powell and Dean of Anchorage, Alaska; grandson Dane, also of Anchorage; brothers, Ralph (Nora Lee), Ray both of McCammon, Idaho, Eugene (Kay) and Freddie (Connie) of Powell; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Freddie and Norma and nephew TJ Onstine.

Jeannine was loved and will be greatly missed.
