Jeffrey Blaine Perkins of Cody died peacefully on Saturday, April 2, 2016. He was 73.

He was born in Salt Lake City on Sept. 30, 1942.

He served the country in Vietnam 1965-66 with the Big Red 1. Jeff was assigned to 3 Star Commanding General Sawman of the 1st Infantry Division.

Jeff’s golf career began in 1967 at Lake Hills Golf Course in Billings, as an assistant pro. He then was a PGA professional at Olive Glenn Golf Course in Cody from 1970-83. He went on to courses in Buena Park, California, Wilsonville, Oregon, and Camarillo, California.

Jeff retired from the golf industry in 2005.

Wyoming was home to Jeff and in the fall of 2013 he returned to Cody from California. His interests included golf, fishing, reading, phone conversations and his faithful felines, Elvis and Dianna.

Jeff leaves behind his son, Greg Perkins; daughter, Stephanie (Hoover); son-in-law Travis; and four grandsons, Jake of Sandy, Utah, and Ethan, Ryland and Cole of Portland, Oregon. He loved them all.

Cremation and a military funeral are pending. Ballard Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
