Patricia Gay Travis, 73, of Rock Springs died Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2016, at the Solari Hospice in Las Vegas, Nevada. A longtime resident of Rock Springs, Patricia died following a lengthy illness.
She was born on Nov. 19, 1942, in Cody, the daughter of James and Elaine Cox Osborne.
Patricia attended schools in Powell, and was a 1961 graduate of Powell High School. She attended and graduated from Northwest Community College and obtained an associate’s degree in journalism. She later attended the University of Wyoming for one year.
Patricia married Charles J. Travis, Jr. in Powell on Sept. 12, 1964.
She was employed at the Rocket Miner newspaper for over 35 years and was the office manager when she retired.
Patricia had many friends in Powell. She enjoyed fishing, gambling and watching television.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Dave Osborne.
She is survived by her husband Charles J. Travis, Jr. of Rock Springs; brother Thomas (Alice) Osborne of Musselshell, Montana; sister Nancy (Larry) Erstad of Las Cruces, New Mexico; sister-in-law Gloria Osborne of Bellingham, Washington; her lab, Dakota; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
