Marianne Campbell, age 78, passed away at the Powell Valley Care Center on January 23, 2016, after a courageous 12 year battle with Alzheimer’s. She spent these last years under the careful, loving hands of her best friend and husband, Dave.
Marianne was born August 3, 1937, in Boone County, Nebraska. She moved to Rawlins, WY with her mother and brother at a young age.
She graduated valedictorian from Rawlins High School and went on to earn a degree with honors in Business Education at the University of Wyoming.
She married the love of her life, James D. Campbell (Dave) on August 24, 1957, in Moose, WY. To this union, two daughters, Denise and Tracey were born and they made their home in Sinclair, WY.
Marianne was a teacher at Rawlins High School for 10 years in the Occupational Center. She then went to work at Westland Federal Savings & Loan and became an officer.
After her service to Westland Federal Savings & Loan, she became a full time grandmother, which was her greatest joy.
In 2003 they moved to Powell, WY, where she could share in the lives of the ones she loved. She touched the lives of many and was respected and well-liked by her students, co-workers and friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Frances Schuele; brother, Joe Schuele; and Aunt Wilma Bogus.
She is survived by her husband Dave of 58 years; daughter Denise Kobbe and husband Rod; granddaughter Kirsten Akin, husband Allen and great-granddaughter Haylee; granddaughter Brittany MacLeod and husband Kyle; daughter Tracey Lujan and Randy; grandson Joe Lujan and fiancé Molly Bittrolff; and grandson Anthony Lujan; special cousin Phyllis Foster and several nieces and nephews. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and grandma “great” and will be greatly missed by all.
