Wilson J. Felix died Aug. 5, 2015, after a battle of kidney failure, due to diabetes. He was 87.

Wilson was born in Evanston on Dec. 1, 1927, to Mary Naomi Wilson Felix and Johnie Felix. He was raised in the area around Mountain View.

He was joined by brother Jerry Dwayne Felix in 1931. Their father passed away in 1944, and this was a hard time as the family worked to keep up the ranch.

Naomi later married Charles Burl “Buck” Pollet, and this marriage added two sisters and another brother to the family.

Wilson graduated from MVHS in 1945 and being wartime, he enlisted in the Marine Corps.

When he returned home, he built airport runways. He later went to work for Buck, roughnecking on a rig. During that time, he fell in love with a Utah girl, Gladys Mae Marshall. They married in Las Vegas on March 12, 1951.

They eventually settled in Lander. Wilson worked various jobs, raised cattle and had horses available for hunting and fishing trips. He loved to build and, he and Gladys built a beautiful log home.

Wilson did concrete work and retired from the Atlantic City ore mine. He was always ready to help out a friend.

Wilson and Gladys were so proud of their children, Terry Marie Felix and Clint Jason Felix.

Gladys had several years of ill health and died in 1993.

After a time, Wilson started seeing a friend, Helen Rich, and they enjoyed years of companionship.

Wilson is survived by his children: Terry and Bryan Bain and CJ Felix; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Flo Felix, sisters Christy and John Petrich and Jicki and Mike Brown; brothers and sisters-in-law; many nieces and nephews; aunt Dorothy Slagowski; and his dear friend Helen Rich.

He was preceded in death by his wife Gladys, his parents Johnie Felix and Naomi Pollet, stepfather Buck Pollet, uncles Jimmy Felix and wife Lois and Harold Clarence Megeath, brothers Jerry D Felix and Charles Burl “Chuck” Pollet, nephews Jerry B Tanner and Sean T Pollet.
