Donald Bruce Ogburn died peacefully on Saturday, Aug. 1, 2015, due to complications resulting from a recent stroke. He was 68.
Bruce was born in November 1946 in Oxnard, California, to Amos Lincoln Ogburn, Jr. and Viola Pearl (Rodgers) Ogburn.
He graduated from Thousand Oaks High School in 1964, and served in both the California National Guard and the United States Army, including a tour in Vietnam in 1968.
He was preceded in passing by his loving wife Maria, who died on April 11, 2011.
Bruce is survived by his daughters Misty Epperson (Keith), of Atascadero, California, and Megan Sadowski (Mark), of Paso Robles, California; son Daniel Ogburn, of San Carlos, California; and stepchildren, Larry Roberts of Dallas, Douglas Roberts of Las Vegas, Candice Haller of Simi Valley, California, and Maria Hempel, of Taylors, South Carolina. His presence will always be with his loved ones. Bruce’s love, mirth, energy and wisdom will be missed by his family and friends.
Bruce was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Powell. Services will be held at the LDS church building on Seventh street at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 15.
Funeral arrangements are being handled by Thompson Funeral Home, P.O. Box 807, 111 W. Third Street in Powell.
