James Dale Montoya was born April 2, 1959, in Mountain Home, Idaho, to Dale C. and Mary Delores “Dee” (Garcia) Montoya. James died Monday, June 29, 2015, at the Riverstone Hospice House in Billings. He was 56.

James married Sarah Frazier on Aug. 12, 1980, in Rexburg, Idaho. To this union, two children were born, Amanda Lee and Jacque’line Delight.

James had two children from a previous marriage, Charles Michael and William Clair, along with two stepchildren, Ann Lee and Steven Wayne.

James lived a very colorful and exciting life. Two of his favorite places to visit were Yellowstone National Park and Dead Indian Pass. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. His hobbies included building a trike with a longtime friend and collecting Trail’s End memorabilia.

James was a member of Brothers of the Third Wheel. He was also a supporter of POW and MIA organizations.

James was preceded in death by his mother.

James is survived by his wife Sarah; his father Dale; his children Amanda (Jason) Erickson, Jacque’line (Charles) Philips, William Finney, Steven (Felicia) Montoya, Ann (Kasey) Adams, Charles (Casey) Finney; two sisters Katherine (Lee) McCoole and Lori Lotten; 21 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
