Dorothy ‘Dody’ Marie Brown

Dorothy “Dody” Marie Brown died on April 2, 2015, in Casper. She was 85.

She was born May 25, 1929, in Red Lodge, Mont., to Cecile (Ewing) and John Martin. After the death of her father, she was raised by Charles Rogers and Cecile.

As a young child, she spent many summers at the Switchback Ranch with her grandparents. She graduated from Natrona County High School in Casper in 1947.     

Dody married the love of her life, George W. Brown on Oct. 2, 1948, in Red Lodge. To this union four children were born: Gary, Cheryl, Loren and Keith. 

She dedicated her life to her family and enjoyed cooking, sewing, knitting, water aerobics, and staying in contact with family and friends on the computer.  

She was preceded in death by her parents, John Martin, Cecile (Ewing) Martin Rogers and Charles Rogers and her in-laws, Lester and Sallie Brown. 

She is survived by her husband George of 66 years; daughter Cheryl Bickling of Casper; sons, Keith (Terry) Brown of Casper, Loren (Amy) of Casper and Gary (Martie) of Cody; brother Ronald (Patricia) Rogers of Buelton, Calif.; sister Barbara Ross of Evansville; sisters-in-law Marie Larsen and Grace Brown of Billings, Mont.; 16 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. 

At her request no formal services were held.    

Condolences may be sent to the Bustard Funeral Home in Casper. The family requests memorial donations be made to Central Wyoming Hospice, 319 South Wilson St. Casper, WY 82601.
