Max Jensen Wardell

Max Jensen Wardell of Powell died Feb. 12, 2015, in Thermopolis. He was 81.

Max was born on June 1, 1933, in Lovell to Iola Jensen and Frank E. Wardell.

He attended school in Burlington, graduating from high school and then going on to college.

On June 12, 1969, Max married Maralyn Margaret Hardee in Burlington. It snowed, and it seemed Max often said it would be a cold day in hell when he got married.

Max served in the U.S. Army and worked in various jobs.

He attended the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Max was part of the Trailer Club, Good Sam Club and also refereed basketball.

He is survived by his wife Maralyn Wardell of Powell; daughter Mary (Clay) Dietz; brother Ray Wardell of Greybull; sister Ruby Shibley of Moses Lake, Wash.; and one grandchild.

Max was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Iola; brothers Verl and Reese; and sisters Vondella, Nora Mae and Darlene.

Funeral services were Wednesday at the Burlington Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
