(Oct. 1, 1987 - Feb. 16, 2015)

Tyler James Bentley of Powell died at his home on Monday, Feb. 16, 2015. He was 27.

He was born Oct. 1, 1987, in Cody to Todd and Shirley Miller Bentley.

He spent most of his life in Clark and enjoyed attending Clark Elementary School.

Tyler was an excellent chess player and was nearly unbeatable. He loved fishing, dirt-biking, shooting, reading and being with his family. His greatest experience was when he accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and savior.

In 2001, Tyler moved with his family to Newton, Kan., to help establish a homeless shelter.

After returning to Wyoming, Tyler graduated in 2006 from Belfry, Mont., High School, at which time he also earned a surveying certificate from the University of Wyoming.

Before beginning his electrical apprenticeship, he spent a few years building homes in the area. He would have been a journeyman electrician this summer.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents Thomas Bentley, Nickolaus Miller and Regina (Miller) Schmidt and step-grandfather Martin Schmidt.

Tyler is survived by his parents Todd and Shirley Bentley of Clark; sisters Amanda Krampert of Florida, Alyssa (Jared) Lydic and new niece Layla of Cody; grandma Ann McNabb-Perkkio of Cody; and great-grandma Donna McNabb of Lovell; as well as several aunts and uncles (Brandt Bentley of Powell), cousins and friends.

There will be a private family burial at Bennett Butte Cemetery in Clark. The family would like to invite all friends to join them for a celebration of Tyler’s life at 4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 21, at the Clark Pioneer Recreation Center in Clark, with a dinner to follow.

Tyler’s family and friends will greatly miss him, his sense of humor, his kind heart for helping others, his undeniable integrity and his smile that lit up the world. Although they will miss Tyler, they can find comfort in knowing that his confidence was in Christ and that they will see him again.

Arrangements are being handled by Thompson Funeral Home. Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.thompsonfuneral.net or to P.O. Box 807 Powell, WY, 82435.
